On 24th September 2025, a high-powered delegation from the AWIBA Network paid a courtesy visit to UNESCO, led by the President, Monique Kyere-Duodu, and the Board Chairman, H.E. Amb. Dr. Stephen Kojo Sackey. They were accompanied by two representatives from the Programs Committee, Beckita Apora and Godfred Oteng Mintah.
During the meeting, Monique Kyere-Duodu gave an overview of the Network, highlighting its impact in supporting and empowering young women. She also shared some of the challenges faced and emphasized the need for further support to expand the Network’s capacity and reach.
As part of the engagement, the President presented products made by young women excelling within the Network as souvenirs, showcasing the creativity, innovation, and hard work of AWIBA members.
The Head of Office and Representative of UNESCO to Ghana, Mr. Edmond Mokala, commended the efforts of the President and the AWIBA team. While acknowledging that UNESCO’s core mandate does not directly focus on women in business, he shared valuable guidance on how the Network could effectively engage with relevant stakeholders whose objectives align with AWIBA’s mission. He further provided key contacts that would be instrumental in helping the Network achieve its goal of strengthening its capacity and impact.
